Community
During the last 22 years in Lakeville, my community leadership and school connections have been demonstrated in many roles and environments.
- We are long-time members at St. John’s Lutheran Church, where I previously served a term as Treasurer.
- Lakeville Arts Festival volunteer
- I am proud to have organized and participated in numerous Second Harvest Heartland food packing events.
- I have coached many seasons of children’s teams in Lakeville youth soccer, football, and 7th and 8th grade traveling basketball.
- My son and I still regularly reflect and smile about our two seasons of filming Lakeville South varsity football games with the end zone tripod camera (often braving the elements!).
Additionally, I mentor undergraduate students at my alma mater, Macalester College in Saint Paul, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography.
As a former college student-athlete (football), I am actively involved in the school’s Student Athlete Advisory Council and Project Corps, providing career guidance, problem-solving skills, and networking opportunities for current students.
My family has also participated in Macalester’s International Student Program, supporting a young woman from Madagascar, who enriched our lives in countless ways and will be a lifelong connection for our family.
I am grateful for the opportunities to stay connected to our community and students at all levels, who continually teach me to appreciate diverse perspectives.
