Leadership

Values

My personal values of honesty, integrity, compassion, and humility are the foundation of everything I do and come from my family.  These family role models include an Army officer, a Vietnam veteran, small business owners, and business and non-profit executives.  Most importantly, all are hard-working, caring people.  I believe we all share these values and will succeed together when we build common ground and create student-focused solutions based on those values.

I lean on these values in all areas of my life.  They provide clear direction when facing challenges and uncertainty, building relationships, and enabling individual and team success.

Professional Leadership

My current professional role is Senior Director of Global Strategy and Risk Management at UnitedHealthcare. My teams design, develop, and implement industry-leading healthcare risk management and security programs. Collaborating with individuals, stakeholder groups, and teams all over the world continually reinforces the value, innovation, and strength that comes from diverse people, thinking, ideas, and cultures.

Prior to UnitedHealthcare, I worked for global financial institutions, solving complex corporate customer payment challenges through innovative software solutions. Our focus was always on the customer and building relationships.

I am proud to have been recognized by peers and colleagues with ‘Act with Integrity’ and ‘Service Excellence’ awards.

Across my personal, community, and professional roles, I have gained critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, a global perspective, effective communication practices, and leadership skills, which I will leverage to build on Lakeville Schools’ successes and identify opportunities for improvement.
